The management of PFI projects has historically been underestimated by many organisations.
PFI projects are governed by established and complex rules set out in the various legal documents and funding arrangements.
It is vital that the project requirements are fully understood from the outset. We approach each project afresh to ensure the uniqueness of each arrangement is understood and we take the time to review and understand all of the documents. All the contractual and financial obligations are identified and a project execution plan is then produced. We then add value by ensuring that these tasks are undertaken in the most efficient manner. Efficiencies in the financial, commercial and administrative processes over the duration of a PFI projects can add significant financial value. Our aim is to ensure the shareholders’ target returns expected from a project are achieved and if possible exceeded.
SPV management is an important, if sometimes undervalued, component of successful PFI projects. The method of delivery, i.e. in-house versus out-sourced, is often over-looked during the bidding stage but merits its own evaluation process. The method to be chosen depends very much on the specific circumstances of each project and the long term objectives of the consortium members. Independent out-sourced SPV management provides an impartial solution which can offer benefits to all the PFI project stakeholders, including the investors, lenders, sub-contractors, project advisors and the public sector clients.
